Bucket List

9 Apr 2026

i finally got to tick niagara falls off my bucket list, and i’m beyond grateful to have experienced something so breathtaking and unforgettable.

there are places you carry in your head long before you ever stand in front of them. niagara falls was one of those for me. i had seen it in photos and heard people try to describe it, but nothing quite prepares you for the real thing. the sound arrives first, then the mist, then the sheer scale of it all. it feels alive, constant, and completely indifferent to how long you have been waiting to see it.

what struck me most was how quickly the moment shifted from anticipation to presence. once i was there, the planning and the build up fell away. it became about standing still, taking it in, and letting it be bigger than whatever story i had built around it. it is rare to encounter something that meets your expectations and still manages to surprise you.

i left feeling grateful in a way that is hard to summarise. grateful for the chance to travel, for the people who shared the experience with me, and for the reminder that wonder still exists in very real, very tangible forms. some bucket list moments feel like trophies. this one felt like perspective.

if you have been thinking about going, i hope you do. give yourself time to linger, to look from more than one spot, and to let the experience unfold without rushing to capture it. it is the kind of place that stays with you, long after the mist has dried.
