Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland
Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland.
I stood beneath a sheet of falling sky and heard Paris in the roar. That city lives in the nerves, a warm buzz that says say yes, stay a little longer, order one more glass. The waterfall talked like a busy cafe on a rainy afternoon. Tables close together. Elbows brushing.
Strangers turning into conspirators.
The cliff held the story steady while the water improvised. Blue above. Fire in the leaves. It felt like the first walk across Pont Neuf after a storm. Pavement steaming. A laugh rising for no good reason.
The stubborn belief that life is meant to be tasted and spilled a little. I thought about small plates and big conversations. About how love in Paris does not whisper. It clinks, it sings, it forgives you for arriving late and still brings bread.
Here in this quiet valley I let that fearless kindness wash over me. The heart said take a seat. The world said welcome home.
