Amsterdam

Amsterdam. The plaza breathes under a pale sun and the city hums.

Cyclists drift through the light, shadows unspooling at their feet. They read like notes on a staff, writing a song the buildings already know.

What strikes me is how the city makes space for motion without making it a spectacle. The movement feels agreed upon, like an unspoken social contract. Nobody needs to announce themselves to belong here.

Strangers become a small tribe for a heartbeat, each bicycle wheelturn a quiet vote for hope.

Cities teach you how to move and still be kind. In this quiet momentum I taste the simple truth that being carried forward can feel like choosing joy.

I leave with an idea I keep returning to. Speed is not the same as urgency. A place can move quickly and still be gentle, still be human.

Amsterdam makes that distinction visible in the simplest way: one wheel turn at a time.
